The Volunteering Zines

Zine Display at Glasgow Women's Library June & July 2024

To celebrate Volunteers Week 2024 (3rd - 9th of June), this display showcases zines made during a series of workshops using volunteering at Glasgow Women’s Library as a starting point and inspiration.

Our amazing volunteer Eva has been running zine-making sessions over the last year, using her experience in zine making and creative projects to facilitate and hold space for other volunteers to experiment, play, and create and think about what volunteering means for them. The zines on display not only showcase the depth of the creativity and diversity in our volunteer team, but the different experiences and journeys volunteers have had with us.

Volunteers have always been at the heart of Glasgow Women’s Library. Not only do our volunteers kindly lend their time and their energy, but crucially they bring hundreds of different perspectives, experiences, and ways of seeing the world which enrich our organisation beyond measure.
